ABOUT CLAYTON METHODIST CHURCH

Welcome to Clayton Methodist Church.

Clayton Methodist Church is a friendly and welcoming church, serving the area of Clayton, Manchester. There are between 20-60 people who attend on Sundays for worship and fellowship, and a good mix of ages.

At a time when there was considerable development of houses and schools as more people moved into Manchester to work, North Road Methodist Church began in 1901 in Clayton Liberal Club. In 1905, the present church building was completed, as a Sunday School building, at a cost of just less than £1500. In 1963, the members and friends of Ashton New Road Methodist Church joined with those at North Road, to become Clayton Methodist Church. The church, at the corner of North Road and Seymour Road South stands as a beacon as we continue to witness as christians in Clayton.
